Hi everybody,
I'm new around and of couse my hobby is...TRAINS!!!

Currently I have a Lima train and a Tyco one both in HO scale.
The present message is because I'm looking for a new motor for my Santa Fe engine (GP-20, red & silver, No. 228-21). I'm wondering if it is possible to find parts like this.

Thanks and have a nice day

Hi Jeansanabria,

Welcome to the forum! Your best bet is to hit the train swap meets and hunt the garage sales. You may also find someone here who has one.

Good luck.

Hey:

Post a "Wanted" listing in the Trading post area. Do you need a "PT" or "MU-2" unit for your Geep "Chisel"?

Thanks for the suggestions.
By the way romcat, what is a PT or a MU-2 unit? Sorry but I'm not an expert in this matter.
This is my locomotive:

Hi:

See your trading post listing.

The MU-2 motor is the earlier more reliable one. PT is later cost saving effort by Grocery chain that bought Tyco.

I've got a couple of rebuilt motors and you can have one if you need one. Do you have the old motor? I've got a couple pictures posted in the rebuild process that you can compare yours with. I think I love fixing these things better than i do running them.....OK maybe not but close..[:D]
