Hi guys:
First thanks to GIC last week for starting things off with those Carbody Chessie's!
OK, that done, here's my LotW for this week. Please note the slow down on my LotW postings is because of two things:
1) No rechargable batteries for Digital camera 2) Buying a lot fewer locomotives than I used to...
Btw: These pics are from the Seller I got it from...
So this week is a nicely weaathered Canadian Pacific Baldwin DS4-4-1000 (S12)
It's modifications include: hard-wiring the motor and light, installation of Northwest Shortline Nickel-silver wheelsets, additional weight, and the installation of Kadee #5s. Details include Sinclair antennae, appropriate stack, a Miniatures by Eric Bell. The unit was Custom Painted in the Canadian Pacific Script Lettering of 1948 and was custom weathered in the Auphton Valley Railway Shops.
Hope you like!

It looks nice. If you look at the pic you can see some BN green, I think, on the inside through the windows. It would be an interseting post to have custom painted Sharks or other diesel Tyco/ Mantuas.

Show how much I pay attention...I did not notice the green until you guys pointed it out.
That explains the green hue (sp?) on the headlight lens when its running.

You're correct, Tyco made the shark in the "Lightning Stripes" scheme as it was called. The scheme you see there is referred to as the "Cigar Band".

'ello, and g'day to y'all...
My participating locomotive is by Athearn... A GP-9 with the older style chassi and metal trucks. Gee, I really like these older models! This locomotive has been highly modified with absolutely magnificant details. They are as follows...(can someone add the drum stick.. er, drum role?...roll?) 1. Four Marker Jewell's properly placed in their respective places. 2. MU mounts on each end painted red. 3. MU Hoses... four on each end. 4. Brake wheels, Brass and painted red. 5. Grab iron hood access ladders perfectly mounted on both ends and painted red. 6. Brass Pilots on both ends and filed correctly. 7. Loco' Numbers, two on each end and one each under each cab window. 8. Correctly applied and modified Dynamic Brake fan and housing, Brass and perfectly mounted with brass winterization fan cover. 9. Tiny Brass Lift Rings on every appropriate location on top of the GP-9. 10. Kadee knuckle couplers painted like rust and detailed brake hose/glad hands. 11. Properly placed brass horn assembly, painted red. 12. Neatly applied and painted red Hand raillings all around. 13. Correctly placed brass Radio Antenna. 14. Bell, brass and correctly mounted. 15. Brass Foot gates for engine to engine passage. 16. Head lights, clear and on both ends lighted. ...17. (ready?) AND Finally... the last: Painted grey and with beautifully applied decals... #'d 3600, the Duluth South Shore And Atlantic lettering in rich red action speed letters.
Now, here it is... ('bout time, eh?!)

John
When the Soo Line Railroad absorbed the DSS&A, the engineers and firemen only wished the Duluth, South Shore, and Atlantic had any EMD locomotives. This locomotive never existed as a prototype. The DSSA had only Baldwins and Alcos on their Roster. I searched for the prototype on this particular locomotive. The MNS [SIG] people told me to keep it for posterity.
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
