Hey All
Being an Alco fan that I am I jumped on an oppertunity to pick up a matched pair of MRC Lima Alco 420's painted for the Lehigh Valley for $40.00 in the original box, untested as is. Sure enough one ran just fine however the 2nd unit had a bumping sound as if the wheel sets were flattenend, which ment the plastic drive gears were craked on the axle shaft, sure enough they were.
I have had this problem before with Proto 1000 BL2 and tried to super glue them back together but it never works, so I tried it again and the results were silmlar, any ideals and where I could get replacement sets?
Walthers sent me replacements for the BL2 so that situation cleared up but I doubt that MRC would stock replacement parts of a vintage model.

| Can you take the gear to a hobby shop? Compare your gear to ones from Life-Like and Athearn. Maybe you can swap them out for gears from another maker.
