If I were a betting man, I’d bet this beastie is a Mantua/Tyco Mikado with a Cary Boiler kit applied. Cary products (besides the boilers they made diecast switcher shells for Athearn and Hobbytown of Boston drives) were very popular and are still being made by the English family (Bowser). The detail parts fitted to this loco are probably brass. What percentage of the total weight must be made of brass before a model can be called “Brass”? As for the “rare” part of the description… we all know how it goes on eBay! I note that this seller lists all of their items as “rare”.
