Here is my accessory of the week. This is a CObalt S Lever, by DCC SPecialties. It is designed to look like the Massive levers used to control switches and signals in the signal towers that were once common around the US. This baby can work both twin coil type switch motors like the Atlas and Tyco ones, or a slow motion motor like the Tortiose. It also has accessory contacts to power frogs if needed.

I just bought a half dozen of these, and will be setting them up in strategic corners of the layout to throw my power switches. Yet another project on the to do list.

Very nice lever. A few old time big levers in France:

Cool switches! Definitely more visually interesting than the little plastic switches most layouts use.

My accessory is a trolleybus model I've been working on, currently going through paint. All parts are 3D printed.

Back in '80, I used to frequently get about on the trolley bus in
San Francisco. They were a bit aged, but quiet and smooth. A
pleasant ride.

Installing grass on Henley. The grass mat is slid underneath the roadbed, the shims tacked down with a spot
of white glue, creating a nice rolling effect. Super simple, just how I like it!

I've never had the opportunity to ride one, but I've heard similar stories. Here in Canada the few cities that ran them beyond the 1960s seemed to have a lot of vintage equipment as well. Mechanical equipment from the 1940s and 50s would be refurbished and put in to new buses in the 70's and 80s. I guess as diesel buses grew in popularity it was difficult to get electric buses.

There's a ghost town out in British Columbia called Sandon that has a whole fleet of trolley buses.

That's them! They're a Brill design built by Canadian Car & Foundry, same as I'm modelling. Seeing that town is on my bucket list!

The rolling fields effect you've done is clever. Definitely looks more like the countryside than a pool table now.

I like the trolley bus model. It's similar but not identical to one I rode on Saturday at Illinois Railway Museum:
