An Athearn FP45 for $5? Is it powered? If so you got a real deal.

Athearn locomotives were, by definition AWD. and All wheel pickup as well. That is one big reason they were my go to locomotives for many years until I switched to DCC. I still have many of them but they don't play well with DCC.

A good friend Louie offered to me a pair of Athearn PA's decorated as Lehigh Valley, that were his prime power from a passenger set "The Black Diamond", all the cars of which were painted and lettered by him and was a beauty. The set was a favorite of his. I have the double lash-up of Alco's now and will keep them always as his.

I am hearing past tense. Is Louie still with us?
And my contribution for the week, if it moves salute it, if it stands still paint it. I like the funky green that Tyco did, that never existed, but wanted something that would pull slow and smooth, so this Athearn BB fell under the brush.
