Here is a Gilbert engine I picked up at last weekend's train show. It's the first one of these Ihave seen.

Hey, I have one of those! I think I posted it here not too long ago, actually.Runs pretty good as of the last time I ran it. My LOTW is a Rivarossi Italian 2-6-0 made sometime in the 1980's from what I've found. Absolutely stunning loco, in my opinion.

Guidos,
Nice engine. The Gilbert switchers came out in 1958/59 and were either blue or black. The road number is 31013, but if I'm reading yours correctly, the road number is 31031. I'm wondering if this could be a factory error or if a prior owner did some custom numbering?

This switcher is numbered 31021 and is different from 31013 as it does not have the counterweight and linkage under the cab.

Yep. I have one of these (without the counterweight) and can confirm.
