This thread will be a repository for factory-painted specialty and commemorative cars. Custom work, rare birds, NMRA Historical RRs and obscure railroad lines need to find their own threads. Keep this one for holiday, retail and railroad club offerings.
So to start...
In Eastern PA, Boscov's is a small retail chain, headquartered in Reading, PA and is still alive and kicking and over the years at Christmas time they brought in HO and O scale train sets and all the items needed to improve a layout. They had two specially-printed boxcars that I am aware of.
Here is their 1981 Christmas release on a Life-Like boxcar.
And the plainer flip side.

Headquartered in Akron, PA is the Mennonite Central Committee, a Christian Ministry that helps globally in humanitarian relief of natural and man-made disasters.
This is a Train Miniatures boxcar carrying their older logo.
The model car has its history tied to a defunct hobby shop called Rule's Trains that started in Lancaster, PA and bounced around from there to Lititz and Manheim before closing.
Many styles and manufacturers have done a version of this car.

I seem to recall that Penney's is one of those rare birds that typically sold for a hefty number of clamolians. I found one in my junk pile, but some early modeller had painted it with something pink and indelible.

Here's one from Chops- the ROCO/AHM modern heated tanker from the Toy Story set. I added car data but it looks like so many freight cars covered in graffiti!
Now I have to add the Slinky Dog Tyco Triple Tanker knockoff! See if I can dredge it up from my collection

I don’t know what “Western Model” is, but I think this one is actually from Mantua Metal Products rather than Tyco, because of the MMP reporting mark.

Four new Tyco varmints, I meant variants, I'd never seen nor heard of before. It just keeps coming, wave after wave. Love what you did with the super tanker, El Rojo. Definitely a graffitti artist got hold of that one.

I see TopTrain’s is missing it’s stirrups too. How old are these things anyway? Mine came from the bottom of a junk shell box at a flea market. Every time I dig through that box I find a few more treasures!

Here's the ROCO Polaroid Film car- I picked this up at a local TCA show for $5. The printing of many colors was too expensive or beyond the capabilities back in the day.
But times have changed and now we can make our own full color decals and this is where it is currently.
Now I just need ladders that fit the ladder holes and I'll call this a victory.

The silver and blue I believe is a Mantua with metal chassis. I have that one too but since it came from a flea I never use it as gospel as to its provenance. But check bottom for metal chassis and the four corner pins that were used in many Mantua and later Tyco cars.

How many of us spent birthday money and paper route money on trains from Kay-Bee?
This was bought cheap at an LHS
I doctored the slogan with blue painter's tape to make it more accurate since they are no more
But not to fear, it is all cleaned and polished and delivering 1/87 trains to all their stores!
And I couldn't tell you how many of these poor L-L Happy New Year 1993 boxcars met their painted end in my alcohol vat to become other things. So in their memory I present this to you.

At one time there were three hobby shops in my small town of under 10,000 people! Western Auto had a little section devoted to model trains. When I saw this car at a train show it came home as a nostalgia piece.
