Nice plugger repaints, I never got around to doing an IC or ICG version during my rebuild project. Great work!

Nice 630 Microbusss. I have 3 icg i rebuilt. Finally testors dullcote is available and it's back to work. Here is another Amtrak gp-20, this one is different. The other was with champ decals and this one with walthers. The differences are with the longer logo and the numbers and small amtrak are blue not black. Also the handrail stanchions are not blackened.
Also getting around to finish the Magma Arizona r.r. . Here is a start.

Contrary to most of what i have posted most of my tyco mantua have had some kind of repair. This is a Penn Central that was in dire need of being saved. Rusted stanchions, burned out bulb and also the obvious . Also dirt masquerading as weathering.
A little work and parts:
Another diesel saved.

Thanks Robert. Heres another neat one. Looks like a Mantua can motor drive diesel. But I bought it cheap as it had a heavily damaged frame (pot metal). If I could not save the shell it was for parts. Except for a small break on the right side at the slot for the motor mount it was great so converted it to MU2.

What can anyone say to that except AMEN!!! If the power torque were better designed it would be my favorite but you just cannot destroy the MU-2.
Heres another save, a Santa Fe B unit. A bit dinged up and came with everything metal badly rusted except the tank but the steps were intact. I was able to save the sideframes and tada.

And here is an Athearn rotary sowplow. Purchased it damaged with missing parts. Had no front truck, flanger or rear coupler. The rear trucks had plastic wheels and there was no interior parts. Put metal wheelsets on and found a mantua motor that would work (probably not a good idea) cannot go over half speed even with all the weight i added or it tips over on a standard curve, but it does move fast even with it's three car consist.

Just wondering out loud... Would that snowplow track better if you could reduce the two bends in your drive line tubing? I suspect there is pretty good resistance to motion with those bends.
IIRC, the front truck had wide axles (similar to the Hustler) and essentially a Hi-F rubber band drive to power the snow blade.

The plow has no problem tracking in fact it is too powerful a motor that is the problem. There is no noticable resistance what so ever. The diesel runs smooth it runs fast even with it's three cars. And yes it is still rubber band run axles just like the hi-f. Modified of course.

Is it self propelled?
Usually in the full-sized world, a rotary snow plow uses its engine for nothing more than to run the snow thrower. It's usually pushed by a locomotive, which is generally moving it very slowly into the snow drifts.

P&W. Now that is cool. I remember it as a little start up hauling road salt from point A to B, over a very short stretch of former B&M rail, maybe 20 miles at the inception? I found it so odd that there was enough money in hauling road salt to finance a ground up short line. Out here, there is the Pecos Valley Southern, running on track so ancient that the fireman stands on the foot board to wave off the engineer if the track is broken. Mostly frac sand, I believe.

The Providence and Worcester dates back to nearly the beginning of railroading in the U.S.  Way back when, it was leased to the New Haven for 99 years, but when the New Haven was incorporated into Penn Central, PW's owners sued and won its independence.  It has grown a good bit since then.

Thanks for some interesting info. Microbusss the logo is the size Microscale made it. MC-4067. I can only assume it was made to the scale of the original diesels of 1982-1992. Still would be interesting to see it slightly larger.

First I would like to thank New_York_Central and Admin for getting the forums back online. Must have been a good deal of work. Thank you. Been busy since here are a few projects. First is the Pov. Worc. Gp-20 to go with the caboose. It started with the diesel marked 1449 someone drilled holes in the front and back so I filled them with Vallejo plastic putty.
The D&H as posted previously alongside the Prov. Worcester.
Also Matching boxcar by roundhouse.

Wow, that is some impressive paint work. I really enjoy seeing the P&W. I recall when it first came into existence, I believe it was a dedicated short line using abandoned B&M tracks, and at the time its sole function was delivery of road salt!

Thanks Robert. Thanks for the info Chops, been looking at the images on google but there is more reference on youtube. I am a novice on real world rail: did they carry salt in hoppers or something like a centerflow hopper? And though I would never call my work professional I like to think I do a pretty good job (48 years of experience helps). There are more works to post tomorrow, been busy while the site was down. Glad we're all back.
