while I am trying to get around my "designers block" on tyco hooks

Chops sent me part of an Operating Crane Car
so I decided to start sketching out the bottom that is missing
basing the design off the tractor flatcar
still in progress, not bad for lunch break work

other plans are getting the tyco hooks finished, then designing bogies/trucks and maybe even axle sets, since I have a lot of cars in my junk pile to fix up repair. not necessarily in that order

It looks like you have a good start there. the underframe is the same exact width and length as a TYCO reefer but lacks the bump for the weight as it will cause interference problems with the 6 axle trucks . The rib spacing is the same but lt only has the 2 center ribs.

yes please, pics with a ruler would be great, as you can see I need a lot of repair work on the boom and hook

I need to make crank handles, but I think I got some brass tubing that can be hammers into a suitable socket

nice! I wasn't planning on exact reproduction design, as I don't have triple axles designed

So you want pics of the underframe with a ruler? Anything else?

I’d like pointers on lighting and focus.
