Hey Guys:
Show & tell for the big kids:
One of my favorite Loco's is a custom tuned Bowser/Athearn Baby Trainmaster that was tweaked a lot by an old Master Builder in PA:

OK, so whats special about it???
It has a tuned Athearn drive with the Athearn flat can motor and brass flywheels, "Crystal Clear" cab glass, MV lenses and Kadee couplers. This is an all metal loco and weighing about 2lbs! on the rails. It has been lubed and tested. MODEL IS AIRBRUSH PAINTED AND HAS MICROSCALE LETTERING, ALL STANDARD DETAILS AND RAILINGS ARE PRESENT, CORRECT SMOKEY VALLEY C-LINER SIDEFRAMES ON THE TRUCKS WITH BRAKE CYLINDERS - MOTOR HAS BEEN BALANCED AND POLISHED AND CLEARANCED ERNST MACHINED GEARS ARE INSTALLED. NWSL NICKLE SILVER DRIVERS THAT HAVE BEEN NMRA GAUGED. IT IS IN THE ORIGINAL FOAM PADDED BOX. THIS IS A PROFESSIONALLY BUILT, TUNED AND PAINTED LOCO. PAINT IS A "LIGHTENED" GREEN TO SIMULATE FRESHLY PAINTED AND SCRUBBED LOCOS IN BRIGHT SUNLIIGHT THAT I REMEMBER FROM THE 40'S AND 50'S WHEN 8 PENNSY TRACKS RAN THROUGH OUR TOWN NEAR ALTOONA.
Well thats it guys, and oh yeah, there is nothing in it's scale that it'll likely loose a pulling contest to save an all metal Steamer with more drivers. [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]

That has to be a great pulling locomotive Gareth. I have an Athearn/Cary SW1500 I put together. The drive is basically stock. The electrical system was hardwired. I added pilot details, railings, sunshades and a few other details before painting.

Hi Ray:
Nice EMD, what's the P&LE?
I bought an Athearn Trainmaster to use to learn Athearn Chassis tweaking. I also have a M/NIB Athearn U-28B for the same purpose though its for sale or trade at this point. I have two extra shells for the Trainmaster (Virginian) that will be repainted in Demonstrator and PRR or CN haven't decided.
I also have now that I think of it an SW1200, that has a detailed shell that I intended to use as a chassis donor for a Cary Metal S-4 Alco switcher shell that I have but I'm going to use a Hobbytown chassis instead! HEAVY METAL!!!

P&LE is the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie. It was a subsidiary of the New York Central System. If you find a Hobbytown chassis for that S-4 it will be a brute.

Heh. With all the inadvertent discussion in the "O or HO" topic, plus the book and movie being out, I couldn't resist...

How Cool, an amphibious train, Euston (London) across the Atlantic, to exactly where in Kentucky is St. Canard and while I think of it; what kind of "Hillbilly" name is Lucio? and I've never heard you say "Y'all or "all-Y'all" which of course is the plural and I don't think you ever mentioned playing a banjo!!!???
Yeah that auction batch was a neat fluke for sure. Nice lady. Less than half the $80 I figured. I'm getting a little hooked on Tyco action accesories and buildings. Poor sad bastard. [V] [V] [V] [V] [V]
Did you see the metal Alco 430(?) I posted iin the ID section?

I also got a shrink wrapped Tyco Machine shop for $10.00!

I've started selling and saving for a BL T1 Duplex and Gawd help me a Con-Cor Aero train. Can you say replace the 13 year old car with a 10 year old next spring instead of this fall!!!

It's a wizards' train. I figure if it can travel the length of Britain on fixed rail (in King's Cross Station no less!) without being seen by "muggles", who's to say it can't Apparate across the Atlantic when necessary? [:P] [;)]
As for the where, and the names, and Italian hillbillies without dialects... that all sort of fits the theme, see?

I'm still chucklin.' LOL[:D]
I'm thinking...Sopranos with Deliverance banjos going full-tilt in the background...and a '72 C-10 longbed with a "MudFlap Girl" sticker on the back window...instead of the requisite Lincoln Town Car.
That made my day. LOL [:D] [:D] [:D]
