Hey all, I am new to the train thing and and been fortunate enough to acquire a lot of free trains and track for my son. I have gotten most everything working except for this Tyco 4-6-2, on the (red) box it says Pacific Baltimore & Ohio Lighted 212B.2800. It didn't work on the track so I took it apart and I am trying to find information on this engine. I would first like to know how power gets to the motor. There is only one lead that went to the link on the tinder, which I could not understand how it would get power from the rail. Does anyone have an image they could post or a link to a diagram so I can be sure everything is correct. Thanks in advance, Russ

I don't have any redbox steamers in my collection, but I believe they used the tender wheels to pick up electricity from one rail, and the engine's drivewheels to get power from the opposite rail. So the wire goes from the tender wheels to one motor lead, and the opposite side of the motor is grounded to the engine's frame which is energized by the drivers. Make sure all the brass wheels on the tender are on the same side.

HO Seeker has diagrams to many things. Here's their selection of Mantua/Tyco diagrams: https://hoseeker.net/mantuainstructions.html

Final follow up, went to hoseeker and got the information. Tore everything down, very dirty and gummed up. Cleaned and reassembled put on the track and had my son throttle it up and works great. Thanks again for the help! Russ
