In this video, I officially swap out the original weak magnet with a new, strong neodymium magnet. Results - nothing. Now the motor doesn't want to turn, but instead just hums. This is quite puzzling - hopefully the magnet just needs to be switched around, hence changing the polarity. Will continue working on this "General" so stay tuned for Part 4.

If the magnet's poles are not at the top and bottom, but are end to end or side to side, the motor wouldn't run.

That's possible, however I re-positioned the magnet tonight and still nothing. But, I noticed that when I firmly hold the 2 magnets around the motor, and move the entire motor assembly thingy in one direction, then the motor works like a charm. So, I'm thinking that drilling-out the rivet may have whacked out the motor assembly a little bit. I'll therefore work on moving the motor assembly back in the right spot, since I know it is not a magnet issue.

Possibly...right now I'm trying to fit in time to get it running right. Honestly though, I do like the aged look, but maybe.
