Ever since finding out on the HO-Scale Trains Resource website, I have been wondering about this Tyco "Red Box Era" F9A for a long while now....

When I google-it, no relevant photos of such a locomotive ever appear.

So...does this locomotive exist? Is it ultra rare? Does anyone have photos/catalog image, or better yet, own one?

Thanks.

You know, some guy, I forget who now, posted some
"Atomic" kitbash using a Tyco observation coach with
some bashing of the rounded end into a cab with
a very cool paint job.

I have never heard of this one!!!

No, Toptrain, not that I know of.

Chops, that was DaCheez I think, except his kitbash involved a rounded-end loco....but according to the website, this F9A was produced by Tyco as a RTR locomotive.

There is no evidence, that it was ever produced. There are no pictures of a factory prototype.

it's like in the early 70s when Tyco actually has pictured two pieces that were never produced. The OREO box car and one colorful hopper that I can think of the advertisement on it right now. I have never heard of that engine but I'm not familiar with all of Tyco's powered pieces...

With me while I am surprised not to have seen this Atomic Energy F9a. The fact that they produced a Alco FA-1 for me is even more surprising. I would have gotten a few if made in NYC or Erie.

Scratch built nuke at Armadilloville to accompany the Tyco nuclear ore dump car.

Heljan made a nuclear power plant kit, wicked expensive. Mine set me back about $10.
