I'd go yellow, but I got this really nice shell from a good friend who lives near the Big Apple. Might be AHM, not sure, but a Bachmann chassis from the junk box slipped right into this like Cinderella into the glass slipper, only had to trim off the front coupler on the truck for an e-z conversion. Coupled to a trio of sweet NH Tyco coaches gifted from the Shark Master. Now I got me a proper NH set, new rail travel to Armadilloville!!

Nice photos of those engines Walt Mike and Jeff.

Photo of that New Haven shell weeks ago before she made her one way trip westward. Glad she found a new home in West Texas Jeff. She is a real beauty for sure.

My LOTW is a 1955 Fleischmann Baldwin switcher in what I presume Fleischmann's attempt at a NYC livery. This is the very first version of this locomotive that they made and 1955 (when this one was made) was the first year they started producing these Baldwin switchers. I absolutely love this livery, it looks sleek. I got it at a train show yesterday with a Bachmann freight car for only $32. When I first put the locomotive on the tracks, it kinda wobbled down the tracks and I found that the front truck wasn't even touching the tracks. On top of that, the engine kept cutting out in random intervals. So, I opened it up and found very quickly that at some point someone opened it up to try and do basic maintenance on it and, to put it very simply, didn't put it back together right. The brushes weren't able to screw in because a metal wire going off to some electrical pickup near the motor was put back in in the wrong place. So, with that revelation (which took quite a while to figure out), I unscrewed the brush, put everything in the right places, and screwed it back in and wallah! The screw finally went in, so it wasn't stripped like I feared it was. Then, I put it back together and after some adjustments, the engine stopped wobbling down the tracks and all the wheels were on the tracks. After I lubricated the gears and ran the locomotive in for a few minutes, it ran like it most likely did all the way back in 1955. I have to say, out of all the HO manufacturers I've dealt with over the years, Fleischmann has got to be amongst the most trouble free. This locomotive is literally the oldest HO locomotive I own.

Fleischmann's American range is always so cool to see. I've only seen ads for it in old MR's from 50's or maybe 60's. Good job on figuring out the conduction issues.

Yeah, I love these old Fleischmann engines. There's something about them that make them extremely unique; particularly those made in the 1950's. I'm quite a fan of the toy-like look and feel of them. The funny thing about Fleischmann's American range is that the vast majority of their locomotives (except for most of their diesels) are essentially "Americanized" German engines. They took off the smoke deflectors, added a headlight on the smokebox door, painted them black, and gave them a generic American style tender. For some reason, though, those ones are actually kinda neat looking, and I want to get ahold of one at some point.

Awesome locomotives, everyone!
Here's my LOTW offering:
TYCO Spirit of '76 Alco "Super" C630! I got this mint specimen, with pre-installed handrails, off of Ebay for under $20. It only needs a little tuning up, and it will soon be running on the rails of RETRO TYCO II.

Nice Super 630! I'll keep the So76 theme going. This is a Tyco Super 430 riding a Bowser C430 chassis/running gear. It's had some details added and some paint work. Anyone who reads The HO Collector Magazine will recognize the model.

Nice locos guys. I know you don't see me around this thread often but I picked up this oldie in a box of junk at a garage sale this weekend. All I wanted was three Athrean tank cars but the seller threw the entire box my way. Really nothing in it worth while but this all metal Varney 'Casey Jones' from the fifties. Not in bad shape body wise but so far it runs like a paper weight. A very heavy one at that.

Whoaaa, the betting is getting pretty heavy 'round here! Tru Fact: Yet again, I have never ever seen nor imagined this chromed out beauty as a Tyco locomotive. I gather Tyco never made matching coaches for that most awesome Milwaukee Road, either?
