The first one is the only one that works and the last one is missing parts on the motor and the drive shafts. sorry about image quality.

Hey Dan.

The Santa Fe engine with number 5628 is a Tyco GP-20.

I'm not positive about the Southern Pacific engine, but I think its an Athearn F-7A

- First one, as Brian said, is made by Life-Like. It is a (crude by modern standards) EMD GP38. A very common model with a cruddy drive.

- Second one, as Cheez pointed out, is your basic later-issue Tyco GP20; it may or may not have had handrails at one point. Yours has the infamous PowerTorque drive... I'm sure if you look around here some you'll find plenty about those. If it runs well, it will be better than your LifeLike engine... but don't be surprised if it doesn't run well.

-Cheez got the last one right too... an Athearn F7. Looks like yours is missing some parts like a driveshaft, the metal-clip-thingy-that-connects-the-trucks-to-the-motor, and coupler pockets. Fortunately these can be found from almost any other Athearn engine. It will run laps around the other two forever if you get the parts to fix it. Heck, I may even have some if you need them.

Welcome aboard!

The life-like is the only one i have that runs, but that will change win i get my new one a SD-35 by IHC. The Athearn F7 was last ran back in 01 and somehow a lot of parts disappeared. but when it ran i remember doing a Tug-of-war with it and my 3 other trains and it won every time.

Dan,
Here's a link to a how-to article I did that may help get that Athearn F7 going again.
