Alco Fan, you might be able to help here! I have 3 PC C430's. One of them has the 4301 road number and the other two have the 5628 road number which we usually see on the GP-20's.

I noticed your avatar is a 5628 version of this engine and the image is labeled rare.

Can someone shed some light on these variations and their relative scarcity?

I remember Mag Ac giving me some info on them last summer. I have one that is 5628 on the cab reporting marks and the numberboards. I have one that is 4301 but 5628 on the lighted boards. By the way, I just got an ex-mu2ed SF shell that is 4301 on the cab sides and 5628 on the number boards.
The resource site doesn't show a picture of a PC 4301. I think Mag Ac was going to send a picture.
I think they ,the PC, are not common but do turn up once in a while on the 'bay. Do you have the boxes. I don't usually get boxes.
Good Luck

Hi Guys:

I have a real pristine PC 430, which I intend to run with my NH430 since they merged. When I dig it outI'll have to check the numbers...

Gareth,

Yours has the 4301 number painted on it and the all red herald. The picture is still in the trading post section.

S__t I should pull that!

There are variations on the herald isn't there? An all white version?

Do you want me to delete that post for you? You did say you were no longer interested in trading it.

Hey Todd:

That would be great. I have a New Haven to tandem it with now since they eventually merged.

Did you know CN bought the IC? could run a CN 430 with a IC one!? Not technically correct because the IC was bought only about 3-5 years ago by CN but hey!?
