https://youtu.be/2Is1dYgttZI Picked up this Athearn DRGW A&B for $50 NIB. Runs super nice, but can barely haul seven Dutch Maidens without the dummy B. Incidentally, the shop still has NIB Athearn A&B F in Soo and KCS at $50 each. LKM if interested.

This week's loco is a Mantua Belle of the 80's doing duty as a USMRR locomotive, the "Ancient".

The previous owner made a few mistakes when he assembled it originally. Most I was able to correct, except for the bad hole drilling for the pilot rods.

Awesome locomotives this week, guys!
Here's my offering:
Another "Geep" which will soon be added to the roster, and my 3rd GP20 - Tyco's classy Chattanooga #5628!! The shell (which included handrails, horns, bell, window-screens, and weight/weight covers) was entirely the product of a great trade with WillV - thanks again! Meanwhile, the trucks originally belonged to a Tyco UP GP20, the shell of which had the broken foot-stepladder....
Now, I know that all Tyco Chattanooga GP20s featured the later "silver" bloomberg truck covers, however, in my opinion, the original "Red Box Era" black truck covers appear more EMD prototypical, and blend more succinctly with this unit (since the fuel tank is black, horns are black, handrails are black, etc.)
I just need to re-install a Goody's Hairband traction tire on one of the drive wheels, since it fell off on its first test run on the Ephrata Valley Railroad, and then this Geep should be good to go!

Yes. When I received it, it was in really bad shape. The smokestack, headlight and headlight mount were missing and I had to replace them. I completely stripped the old model and then painted and used decals from Micro-Scale to finish it off.

That Erie F7 would almost pass off as a Victorian Railways (Australian) locomotive. The VR blatantly ripped off that livery right up to the early 80s, only changing the logo and making the major color blue, even on their hood units (e.g. T/X class).
Tyco actually released an F7 with the VR livery with the number S301* specifically for the Australian market, although at that time Australia did not actually have anything to couple with it apart from American prototypes, as it used the standard Tyco horn hooks whereas Australian models generally used European NEM couplers at the time, due to Lima Italy being the main source of Australian prototypes in the 70s and 80s.
S301 was a real loco, the S class diesels were basically an F7 with six axles but shorter than an E unit, numbered from 300 to 317, with a hostler's cab and some small windows at the rear. IIRC the Tyco model retained the same illuminated 4015 fleet numbers on the nose as the US models, but with S301 in a large Cooper Black font on the sides, which the original S class never had (they had number boards on the sides and never used the Cooper font). Their predecessors, the S class streamlined steam locos, also had the same 300 series number range, but only four were built (300-303). Unfortunately the four steam locos were all scrapped before a rail museum could acquire them.

I searched and searched for one of the Tyco VR F units and finally found one that was in nice shape on eBay years ago. I paid for it and she never shipped it, refunded me and said it was broken. Saw it relisted two months later. I gave up after that. Nice looking engine's.

Looks good. Glad I was able to help you out. I didn't have any usable drive units or it would not have left me LOL
Anyway, glad to see it have a good home.
