Picked up a few basket case locos from a buddy that sells on eBay. I started buying from him and now repair locos in exchange for rolling stock :D Got a Tyco 4-6-0 off him that needs alot of TLC (Might post that next week), but he told me he fo9und another one similar to that one. I was hoping he had a General, and my hopes were rewarded :D So I now have a General... Sort of, lol
She doesn't run, haven't pulled it apart to test the motor yet, but she's going to be a blank canvas for me.

Dan don't paint over this loco! The only thing you need to resurrect a Tyco Civil War Gray loco is good tender stickers. The one you show looks perfect. If the other side is just as nice, you can do it. Be patient and wait for another general for parts. Work on your color matching skills. You can use Craft shop paints and get a gray and red to match. There are tens of thousands of generals out there for parts.

Terrific contributions. Georgia Central- wow. How common is that? Do those Geeps have a Hobby Town drive?
Looks like Tyco, has a PT motor like Tyco, but came in a set with these promotional cars. Unknown manufacture; appears to be a Tyco knock off using Tyco dies?
Frank! When are you going to tell us about that mystery metal switcher??!!

Nice locomotives this week, guys!! Toptrain, I LOVE those Lionel NYC GP7's
Here's my LOTW offering:
A nice vintage Bachmann Chessie F9A #7071 which has been in my roster since last year, hauling all 4 of my Autoloaders as well as the Kenworth cabover w. Santa Fe trailer on-a-flatcar.
Absolutely true: Chessie System never had an F7 or F9 painted in the bright Chessie livery....although Chessie did inherit used F9's from B&O and C&O. So, Bachmann, Tyco, and other manufacturers (although creating a colorful locomotive) actually weren't prototypical in making a Chessie F9.

Great locos this week. Dan, PLEASE take Tops advice. Those Confederates are extremely hard to come by with the tender stickers in good shape. There are parts aplenty to be had to do the restore.

I honestly didn't know they were that rare. She'll definitely get the full restoration treatment. I do have a couple of other cars for the set. If anything I might even leave the decals like they are the Tenders in pretty good shape. It's just the locomotive that's really the basket case

I agree with everyone else. Restore that engine. Somewhere I have reproduction tender stickers and the flags for that and the USMRR General. If you need them, lmk and I'll see if i can find them.

The stickers aren't "that" bad. I might keep them original. I'll have to see what other GCRR cars I have. I think I have the box and the horse car. Might have the flat, not sure, know I don't have the Hospital Car.

From my experience, the hospital car is the next hardest one to find. Took me over a year to find mine, and that was by accident.

In good shape, yes. Most need to have work done to them, IF the tender sticker is in half-way decent shape. I saw the USMRR Hospital car on eBay listed for $75.00 if that gives you an idea.

My LOTW offering is a small Japan Imported 0-4-0 Ken Kidder (I think) Plantation type steam locomotive.
