A certain family resemblance? (AHM GG1 repaint, by brush).

Awesome GG1 Chops! I think you are right about the resemblance!
Here is my latest acquisition, a motorized interurban. I will need to replace the pantograph as you can see. I believe this is half of a Pittman Bride and Groom set that was available in the 1950's. It looks like Pittman used a John English coach and combine as the basis of the set.

Thanks Redwoods, and I must say that interurban is just about as cool as HO vintage gets. She just oozes character. I would sure like to see her when you get her done up.

Chops, nice craftsmanship on that PC GG1! I also love its freight assignment (autoloader cars)
Neat vintage motorized interurban, Redwoods! And, neat steamers Mustangs_N_Trains!
Here's my LOTW offering:
A Silver Streak C430 locomotive #4301 & caboose I won on Ebay last week for $14, with shipping included. This locomotive is a great runner, and with new traction tires, it appears to run well around my LTT! This particular Silver Streak C430 is in pretty good shape for its age, and is the "older version" I believe, in that the logo on the nose has "Railroad" under Union Pacific. I installed 2 new Horn Hook couplers & traction tires, lubed it with Liberty Oil, and plan on handrailing the locomotive also. Will post under my roster then!
P.S. - I will be receiving a better Silver Streak caboose in a trade with Microbusss :), so once I receive it, I will be trading away this one (either the whole thing or just the shell) So, stay tuned!

Fabulous restoration, RP. I hadn't noticed the "Railroad" variation, until now. Did you use Goody's Hair Bands for the traction tires?
The irony of the ca. 1937 GG1 pulling the autoloaders is that it is facilitating the element of its own demise.

Thanks, Chops, there's still one more part of the restoration to go, adding handrails! Yes, I did use Goody's Hairband traction tires on the SS locomotive, and so far they are working great. But, I have yet to test it with hauling freight. Stay tuned for an update on the loco under my "Roster of Tyco Locomotives" soon.
By the way, I noticed that some Silver Streak C430's featured a chrome roof along the entire top of the locomotive behind the cab (like mine) while others have a "red top" on the whole locomotive. Is this a variant of the SS locomotive???

I never knew that, RP. I am told there is something about the words, "Union Pacific Railroad" on the nose, but I'm not sure if that's true or speculation.
Another submission, BTW, to Trains for TTeens.

Back in the 1960s & 1970s UP was using UPRR on their shields Even when the Centennials were delivered they had the Union Pacific Railroad shield on them later on the Railroad was painted over

This is a wonderful image. I love the comparisom with the whale. I was gazing at it, admiring it, then suddenly it struck me, it isn't Tyco! The Tyco version had a lot less wheels and a much deeper nose to hide it, so this picture would not have looked nearly as good if it had been a Tyco one. Is it IHC or Mehano? Great looking loco, whoever made it!

Not only am I hopeless Tyco fan, I am also am infatuated with British rail and railfanning. I spent a formative year in the UK as a boy, and only the steep price of customs duties prevent me from indulging more. Here is a little video of my favorite American locomotive, the GG1, by Tyco. I double motored it, thanks to some help from a Tyco Forumer, and it works so much better. https://youtu.be/yTvgt7YdnbE

That looks really good chops. Pity that they didn't paint the other color schemes for that loco with the lower portion of the noses in black. It hides the fact that it is a Co-Co quite well.
Were the powered and non powered bogies the same castings, and how did it run before you worked on it? It seems very lively now!
I have two Mehano GG-1s that are both superb runners, but they both have different inners. One has a single central motor that drives both bogies with flexible drive shafts. The other is a lot heavier and has motors on each bogie. Yet to decide which is best! Would still love a cheeky Tyco one though, but they just don't come up over here.
Is the one in your image Mehano/IHC?

It would IHC. The Tyco in the video ran like rubbish before I double motored it. Now it pulls like the devil!

It's a variation. The chrome roof version is slightly more common from what I remember, but neither is particularly hard to find.
