Landon is my 5 year old grandson and he loves trains. He presently he has a Thomas train set up on a table that I built for him. I stumbled across a guy selling some HO stuff and decided to one of the "starter sets" he had for Landon. I've also bought a couple of other locomotives and some rolling stock but haven't yet started building a layout. The set came with a AHM Tempo EMD BL-2 and I have bought 4 others,a Model Power Alco FA-2 and three Tyco Baldwin RF-16.only one of which is complete and running. The set came with brass- code 100 track which I may or may not use. The oval it makes is too wide for his table. I have it set up on our pool table ( which someday may become the base of a layout I may build for myself) just so I can play with it !

Today thisTyco bridge set came in the mail. Seller said it was complete but I think there is a few extra parts and has one of the worst instruction sheets I've ever seen-- from anything.

| Well Ed, we'll see whether it's you or your grandson that's going to be spending more time with this. Glad you posted some photos. It will be fun to watch as you build this. I, too, am lacking for space and seeing your trestle pieces reminded me of that. I have been thinking for some time that doing a figure 8 with a trestle crossover is a good way to run trains as the wear and tear will be equally divided between right hand turns and left hand turns. Keep the photos coming Ed.

Most famous words there, "I got it for my grandson." If your wife will buy that, more power to ya. Once you hit "grandpa stage" it's ok to play with model railroads.

Thanks gents. At this point I'm still just buying stuff and looking for more ! Can't start on a base until I get someone with a truck to take me to the lumber yard. My old truck is down due to hitting a deer. Found a couple of books from Atlas that I want to get,one on electrical and one on layouts.
I think the wife has figured out that this is just as much for me as it is the boy. She usually squawks about the money I spend on my hobbies but since the grandson is involved in this --not a peep !!
I have kinda gotten wrapped up in this. I have a brand new wood lathe sitting in the garage that is still in the box ! New dust collector for the shop needs to be plumbed and I haven't touched that old truck in almost a month.

Picked some more track and a couple of controls, both used but appear to work well. The Tycounit we had was kinda flaky. The boy snagged the control with the shiny aluminum cover and asked if we could set up that bridge and trestles now that we had more track. I was hoping to wait until I had a base before I messed with the bridge. But....

| Nice pics! I had a version of my own son, Landon, his small train table I had built for him. However, he exhibits no interest in the Hobby now. At mid 17 driving and video games has his attention...
