I've have two PT motors where the shaft that holds the large gear (the one that mates with the gear on the armature) has broken. Is there a fix for this (other than replacing the PT housing)?

Thanks

Possibly drill it out and use a small length of rod CAA'd or epoxied in place?

Since the housing is pot metal, fixing it would require PRECISE drilling of a hole in the old shaft location, and installing a metal pin the exact same size. It would require a machine shop to really be that precicse. I tried drilling one out myself, but the bit will skitter around and it's not easy telling where the original shaft was, once it breaks off flush. Best thing to do is replace the housing. If you need a couple of them , I should have some extra I can sell ya for $5 each plus shipping. Just the housings.
