So here's the thing. My bud Robert got himself this super nice Atlas piece with a built in decoder with sound. Out of the box, it is set for analog, but it has an accleration delay programmed in, so that while it runs beautifully, he cannot MU it with other analog units, as he wishes to do. According to these instructions, it CAN be reset to run analog, but neither of us have an advanced DCC power pack to recode it by first switching on and off the bell, etc.
Does anyone have the technical wizardry and the advanced power pack to set this thing on a programming track and make it function like an analog piece? Robert would mail it out to you, with return packing and postage included, if you could lend him a hand.

| Wish I could help. Just have an old MRC Prodigy. Need to pick up an NCE or Prodigy Advance one of these days soon.

| You are going to have to find someone with a DCC system to reset it for you. A local club, hobby shop or a friend.

Yeah, its gotta be an advanced system that does bells and whistles, apparently. My DCC stuff is pretty old, pretty simple. Enough for my purposes.

This cannot be fixed with programming settings. A dual mode decoder with sound will start the sounds at about 5 volts. The unit will start to move at 7.5 volts. For it to function with other DC engines the decoder must be disconnected and the motor wired direct. That is the current way most dual mode decoders work. Life is hard in the technology realm. I am hoping he will sell it to me. I rather like the way it runs. However, I will probably strip it down and paint it up in a fantasy PC asylum green with the pink and white worms in love. IF I can get him to let loose of it.
