Well, after fixing my Lionel Scout Engine #236 Saturday, I got my entire set together Monday, and took it with me Tuesday so I could run it at my train shop test layout. It ran well, the test track has a spot with dirty track, so it tried to reverse a few times there. And did. Overall, a pretty great sight to see my childhood train set running around track again. Even the smoke still works! My missile launcher car doesn't work , I tried to fix it at the shop, but it needs some more work. Very pleased to have it in running condition again after almost 30 years in storage.

Awesome set Jerry! Gotta love classic Lionel. (Even though I'm a Marx fan ;))

That is cool Jerry. I was just imagining what it would be like to have a layout large enough to include a pond where the sub could be launched.

Charming reconstituted set. The submarine is the bomb! My coal drag set, hauled by an inauspicious collection of PC, not atypical for its final days. Layout by El Paso Model Train Club.
