i have a question. what do you guys use for brushes & springs on the power torque motors when they are beyond cleaning? usually, when i have one go out, the brush springs are what gets ruined. i need a suitable replacement for the springs at least.

From the other Jerry - Smokie, you need two different sources. For the brushes, the old Aurora slot car brushes are a drop-in replacement - they're as fat and as flat as the PT versions. But they used spring arms, not coil springs. For coil springs, the later AF/X type are the ones that will fit. The AF/X dot brushes are too tall, they usually sell the (correct for PT motor ) springs with these fat dot brushes, but you need to buy them separately. Or just buy them and sell the slot car brushes later. Do not buy any brushes with a raised center dot, they're too high. You need the flat original Type Aurora used in the early slot cars.

Jerry Casper, in VA, have rebuilt PT's with Aurora parts....

Hmm, I'm thinking those are too long, but you can cut them in half to work.
