Starting off small, just got this N gauge Chessie F7 yesterday, runs, noisy like most of these split-frame bachmann N gauges, but runs smoothly.

Hi Barry. I traded other trains to get it, and had to fix a broken pilot. I didn't know it the repaired pilot would clear the track. it is very close. Maybe it is OK. frank

This week, I added a really bright SMD LED, and 2 1000uf capacitors to my Bachmann 2-8-0. Now it has a super bright LED, and can run for 2 sec without track power!
Before: After:
I hope you guys like it!
P.S. Notice the lighted Athearn Pullman Heavyweights behind the 2-8-0 :D https://youtu.be/Se3Wk5sK3j0
If I can't fix it, I can fix it so it can't be fixed.

I don't know if I posted this before but this is by far the favorite in my collection though it rarely gets running time.

Nice video Charles. It's always fun to see a work in progress. I also really enjoyed watching the valve gear on that locomotive. Seemed very realistic movement.

Nice engine! I also want to buy a BNSF ES44AC. Parts323, should I get the Athearn one or the Intermountain one?

Athearn locomotives are good solid runners, but Intermountain is in a class by itself. I would recommend that if your layout is DC go with the Athearn, because Intermountain locomotives do not run very well in DC mode. They are primarily a DCC locomotive. So if your layout is already DCC or you plan to convert to DCC in the future, go with the Intermountain.
