I am happy to report I know absolutely nothing. However, Tinplate Henry has a similar set in Dupont Chemical paint scheme, rather in the same mold as the John Deere set. Henry's is for sale, mint.

they were produced yearly for workers to purchase at gm stores from what i have been told,the 1999 version is shown on hoseekers athearn train sets along with this one
