I'm planning a 70s era layout set in the area from buffalo NY and Pittsburg Pa i am going to use three decks on the layout the lower and upper is going to be stageing and the middle is going to have scenery its going to be freelanced railroad if you have any industry ideas please tell me

Bethlehem Steel (Lackawanna) had a mill in Buffalo until 82 or 83.

There are also allot of grain elevators along the lake Eris coast. Adding a few of those will give some variety. Docks along Erie can also be modeled. They took in ore for the steel industry. And grain was shipped through them via the Great Lakes to the Mississippi river.

Nuclear power plant. I need ideas to copy for
a compressed version to go with my Tyco
Pennsylvania RR glow in the dark ore car.

Rochester is near Buffalo. On the Genesse River there is a cement transfer location that offloads lake freights and transfers to trucks. It is at Turning Point park. Kodak is big there too. They not only made film but large amounts of chemicals.
