Hi just joined,
I'm mostly a slot car guy,, well actually slotless slot cars. I run a website over at www.tycotcrracing.com.
Since the weather has turned cold once again i felt it time to take out the trains. a few years ago i tossed together this system.

I decided to get more ambitious this year and make something larger with more trains. in the mean time i setup my turbo train for some action.

I'm no stranger to electronics and reworking engines.
I found some broken Tyco trains and have been restoring them
i had to rebuild the motor on a 1974 F9A Diesel Locomotive it was an early set with the metal car chassis, it was missing a few parts but i have filled them in. i'm also working on a Chattanooga chocho with smoke, and a city of san fran E7 with power torque.
well i'm no stranger to making old stuff work better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT6m3ErFcmQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=697S3k8E2ZA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B22d3zt7zFI
and of course slotless action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16gmVIo201U
well i have some questions hopefully i will be welcomed onboard :D

Welcome, Welcome, Dan !
I too am a slot car fan and I'm slowly assembling an 8X20 layout of slot cars & trains... I have a thread on here called Walt's 8X20 if you'd like to check it out...

Hi, Dan! I'm another slot car enthusiast myself, although more of the slot variety. I have some of the slotless type, but because most of the vintage bodies I like are in slot type, and not the more modern TCR versions, I stick with slot type. There's no vintage bodies for TCR cars that I know of, so I never got into that at all, just picked up a few cars and trucks for them, and a bit of track, on occasion. I, like Walt, would like to combine slot cars and trains, unfortunately I don't have the room for either on a big enough layout for now. Maybe someday. Will check out your links and see what you have and run. I like the Tyco Turbo train, and I have some of the slot car variety as well. Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy your stay!

Hi Jerry,
Well for TCR you can fit pretty much any body on the market. You have tyco tcr and afx speedsteer which became tyco tcr after the mid 80s buyout from bankruptcy.
You seem like a AMC man so here is a custom javaline I put together for tcr

Modified chassis for long wheelbase

Made some custom packaging for it

You can learn more here http://www.tycotcrracing.com/projects/building-a-long-wheelbase-tcr-chassis/
I must have 100s of different tcr cars it's just of matter of what you want :)

Welcome to the forum. Very nice slot cars you have there.

Wow, nice conversion job! I'm impressed! yeah, I was pretty much out of my teens when TCR came into being, so never really got into that aspect. Plus it's hard to do 4-lane racing with TCR as well. But you have some wonderful stuff, hope to see you post more of it in the future. Thanks for posting that Javelin.
