Well I have a few tyco's that are acting like tycos. Below is a list of the engines that need a repower. I need to know what Athearn or Mehano chassis will suit the shell and how much modification you will have to do.
C430
C630
GP20 ( I SWEAR I saw this somewhere on the forum)
2-8-0/0-8-0 (Preferably something in the tender)

Thanks

I used an Athearn BB GP35 with the newer BB motor to re-power a Tyco GP 20.

I believe the Athearn BB U-Boat chassis should work for the C430 and C630. They have trucks that are close to what you will want. There are various models, might have to test what one is the right length.

I have not done this but I would think a MU2 truck could re-power a Tyco PT tender. Maybe even a pancake more from a Life Like or Bachmann train set locomotive.

Athearn U30C chassis will fit a TYCO C630... ironically, in production, they were both in competition!

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

A 430 will fit a B23-7 by Bachmann. A GP20 will fit a Athearn GP9 nicely. Make sure it's blue box.

Some new magnets from Dash Motorsports fixed up my misbehaving Tyco's. They can be found on fleabay. There's a good thread over at the Depot on the process and results.
