Has anyone seen or have this engine? I have been looking for this engine for about 3 years. I look on ebay about once a week sometimes more and have yet to see it. Seems to be a "Phantom". It's the only one I don't have. Thanks

Kevin:
Just search a bit more diligently, Kevin. I recall bidding on a couple of the D&RG SD-24s in the past year, boxed and unboxed. Might I suggest you broaden your search to examine all "diesels" in HO or look at Tyco or HO "engines" or "lots." They're out there, though not too common.
Good hunting!

ps: I frequently found old Tyco diesels listed under Atlas, Bachmann, Life Like, you name it!

I too seem to recall seeing an DRGW SD-24, as Magnolia wisely pointed out, in a box lot on ebay about a year ago. There was even a D&H Shark in a lot just this past week! (missed the end of that one). Patience, persistence and a sharp eye can pay off. I'd be pursuing a DRGW SD myself, if I didn't already have a DRGW Lionel U18B [}:)]

I have the Chessie SD24, it is quite a nice looking engine. Tyco did a nice job on the paint and didn't butcher the poor "Ches-C" logo like they did on the Super630s. Nice plastic handrails too, which are a unique feature among Tyco engines! I got some flak for having it mixed with all my "real" Chessie models but hey, I like what I like...

Maybe if I took Alexander's suggestion and slapped it on an Atlas frame, I coulda gotten away with it... "...but Chessie never rostered an SD-24...!", god I can hear it now... [xx(]

I must be just missing them, getting in a hurry. It takes along time to look through every auction. I've looked in Mantua also. Thanks
