My LOTW is a Mehano made Bachmann GP18 in Union Pacific livery. Actually doesn't run too bad, honestly. Got it at a show for $12.

Just up to South Dakota Steve and seeing a couple of those UP's in tandem pulling and a trailer pushing behind these mile long coal trains along that impeccably maintained rail system through the wide open spaces is pretty impressive . . . not too mention that the cars don't seem all covered with graffiti.

Another eBay score:
A TYCO Chattanooga GP20 diesel with Kadee couplers, LED headlights and DCC! (It still has the PowerTorque motor though.) I may need to clean it a bit though before doing more layout use with it. I actually got this last week, but I didn't post about it because I was on vacation that week at Old Orchard Beach in Maine (lots of real trains there!)

I never thought anyone would want to do that. I can understand if it was remotored with an Athearn drive but with it's original Powertorque motor? That's definitely unique in it's own right.

Really nice postings. I must confess that Purina switcher and box car really grabs my attention.
Nice score on the Chattanooga- it appears to be hard at work.
Top Train, that chunky old Marx makes quite a splash. Run good after all those miles?

That Roundhouse saddle tanker is pretty nice to see, and that satin finish on the paint job dresses it up just right.

thanks erich, the loco came badly painted, with drivers as they were, was going to leave it all bare metal but could not remove all,so sanded down where possible and wire brushed, primed then painted body chassis with good old car spray, thought it looked nice as was so decided not to paint the drivers
