My BOTW for this week is a department store kit that I used for my ghost town layout in H0.

Detailing the Tyco Center Street School a little. Have all the parts not seen in photos... Added some color to the play ground toys... Fence is loose ... just sitting for photos...

That school looks fun Walt. Just need a passle o' kids on that playground and maybe a school marm. Ken, I check those Aristocraft things out now and then. I've been real tempted to get their sand tower/building set.

Well I guess I'll give equal time for now.
Walt - I real like that school, neat detail.
Ken - Good looking lumber shed and Kovacste neat using that building in a ghost town. Everyone always has wooden buildings in ghost towns.
Mine this week is the Bachman CityScapes Department store, actually 2 stacked, with the first floor removed from the upper one. I also reversed the walls and added a skylight (It was a funnel) and a clock that was a Christmas decoration. This is my B&W portrait of my Marshall Fields & Co store.

Very nice buildings this week, everybody!

Steve, I really like the vegetation growing on the roof, and the broken windows are a nice touch.

Walt, that school complex makes me think of Sesame Street®, which is a good thing! Question: Is the playground equipment glued down? Because there's not any room for the kids to shoot hoops!

Ken, that lumber shed kit built up into a good looking structure. I don't envy the HO scale guys their job of handling that large dimensional lumber, though!

Gary, I love the look of that department store, and that clock is an excellent touch. The B&W photo gives it that period feel, thanks to the old B&W movies. It's amazing how such stores have changed, from multi-storied windowed downtown buildings full of character, to sprawling, windowless, characterless, suburban structures. BTW, do you have a shot of that funnel skylight?

Good point, Glenn. The slide was the only thing still glued from years ago. I went in after reading this and carefully removed it. I will locate the equipment to better spots.
Thank You, for pointing that out!

Walt, after I opened my big mouth I wondered if the playground was big enough for some hoops, but I see you managed it pretty well. It looks good!

Gmoney- Here is a view with the skylight. The plastic I used to trim the funnel doesn't stay on too well. Will redo with electrical tape someday. Thanks for the kind words. I intend to do a similar B&W study of all my other large structures. Keep a look out for them here.

Thanks Gary, I was wondering how you did that, because I didn't know you could get square funnels. I was envisioning a cone-shaped skylight of some sort. It impresses me how some modelers can look at an everyday object and see modeling possibilities, or conversely, have a desire to model some particular detail and then find some everyday object with which to do it.

Walt, we make mistakes all the time we don't notice. If you don't believe it, ask your wife!
