Well, switching to plan B, I'm posting this tyco ACL B unit, one day it will find it's way to the A unit as well. I also have 2 of the ACL passenger cars, hope to get the complete Mantua set one day as well.

That's definitely a nice unit, though. My LOTW is my very first model train period. That loco is an H0 scale Athearn CSX F unit from the early 2000's.

Found a second Chattanooga GP-20 recently in a swap meet scrap box. It cleaned up well, got it running fairly easily. I am surprised at how orange the paint is compared to my other one which is clearly a brighter red.

High Graflex, ammoniated cleaners, especially those with highly dissolved notratiates of carbon, will turn red paint orange.

Not sure if this one had ever been cleaned before I got my hands on it. I just use a toothbrush and mild dish or hand soap to clean mine. I still say this color scheme would look awesome on a prototype locomotive. Im sure a shortline railroad could capitalize on this and possibly draw a few extra tourist dollars to their venue considering how many of us grew up loving these things and are now of an age when travel and retirement are becoming more common.

I love that old British loco. The design actually kinda reminds me of those Matchbox trains from the late 70's - early 80's.

Nothing's better than cleaning out a storage shed and finding a box of stuff you forgot you owned! Here's a Life-Like locomotive and caboose set:
Even though I'm a "Santa Fe all the way" kind of guy, I may part with this one. On the other hand, I like to save the Life-Likes that run so I can repower my old D&H when it inevitably goes bad.

Does have a purplish hue! It'll eventually earn his lighting stripes and Barney Fife will be an NYC diesel! Got 3 NYC steamers but no diesel for the road.

My LOTW is this Baldwin shark nose:
I can remember looking at those as a kid and really liking them, but not having a particular use for one. Saturday, I was at the swap meet at Galesburg Railroad Days and found this ROCO shark for $20.
It seems to be a pretty good runner with all wheel drive and pickup. Two wheels have traction tires at a small cost in electrical pickup but with an improvement in traction.
It's still not crucial to running my layout, but I have a bit more disposable income now than I did as a kid.
I plan to convert the couplers to Kadees, put on my home road name, kill some of that shine, and see what other cosmetic changes I may want to make. It'll be a while, though, since there's not a big hurry and things are kind of busy this summer.

My LOTW is some GG1 action.First is a total basket case Penn Line GG1 in Tuscan red, the other is a Tyco unit that I decided to experiment with and create a "corrected" GG 1 from the Tyco original using mostly Tyco parts. I am posting the correction method as an article in the modifications/kitbash section. Check out the results, not bad for an evening project!

Here is my LOTW. Recently converted to DCC. Pretty easy straight forward conversion. Runs better once weight was added.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PRR_R1.jpg The TYCO unit as built is closer to the R-1 above. Not quite as short as a P5A. Dave
