For this week, my LOTW is a BLI IC E7 with DCC sound from around 2004 that I got with a B unit and a bunch of matching coaches.

No "varnish" this week, but I DO have a Varney F3, almost JOTW material, missing the drivewshaft to the front truck, and a side frame. But overall not too bad a shape. I have a weakness for varney for some reason, when I find them cheap, I adopt them. :)

My LOTW is a Mantua Shifter:
I got it used at a swap meet. It had a peeling, flaking paint job, and a tender with zinc pest. On the plus side, it also had a nice aftermarket air brake compressor and bell as well as some nice added detailing on the hand rails and walkways.
I improved the electrical pickups and wiring, replaced the couplers with better ones, added pop valves and a whistle and repainted the engine. I replaced the tender with one that I already had on hand left over from another project.
For now, it's neither numbered nor lettered pending a more permanent decision regarding how I want to use it.

Never seen so many Generals in one place. Is that Blue USMRR one factory paint or custom? That unpainted one, never knew they came in all metal. An impressive collection.

That is quite an awesome set of instructions Ken. It's like a lifetime achievement; unless that guy was "faster than a speeding bullet".

That is an incredible document.
He refers to it as a "general rebuild". I would call that the understatement of the century.

My LOTW is this sweet Conrail F-7. It was a scrapbox find at a local shop and was not running. Found a bad soldered connection, cleaned the armatures with a shot of TV tuner cleaner, bingo, its a runner. Gave the body a good scrubbing with a tooth brush and some mild dish soap. I honestly cant see where this thing had much running time before the solder came loose. Wheels show almost no wear!

My second F for the LOTW is an Atlas FP-7. I always wanted one of these and this is my first and only example of the breed. Swapped out the motor with another Atlas motor I had around, cleaned her up. I like this one.
