Ok, so I've actually had it lying around waiting for the past 2 years, but I have managed to fully power a Hommer Climax kit from Ye Olde Huff 'N' Puff!

I fit all of the mechanics underneath the floor, so it's all almost completely out of sight from normal viewing. Should be a really cool little engine when it's done!

Very nice Darth. Nice clear video. Nice smooth and slow running. Nice engineering. I'm not sure what that is suppose to look like when it's complete, but it would be fun to see another video when it's done.

That's a clever little compact drive. That engine's going to be a honey when it's done. Please keep us posted.

That turned out to be a very nice and realistic runner, I gotta say.

Excellent job Darth. I've been wondering how best to power a trolley motor flat. I looks like you have come up with a great way to do it. Do you have a sense of the minimum radius it will take?

Thanks! I'll be sure to keep everyone up to date.
Barry, it'll basically look like it did in the video, except it'll have a big roof on top.
Redwoods, the universals have to swing quite a bit when the trucks rotate, so it can only take an 18" minimum radius.

The engine would seem to have a lot of potential for interesting detail in the way the fuel is loaded and in the sort of tools, chains, fire hoses, etc. could be added. Having seen your detailing work on your last project, I'm intrigued to see the end result on this one.

That's really a neat twist on the climax with that flywheel and chain drive. The engine resembles an agricultural steam traction engine. I've seen pictures of an agricultural traction engine mounted to a locomotive, somewhere lately. Small world to see a model of one, so soon.
Sometime in the next mile or two, you'll need to take on some more firewood.

A very well done custom, I must say.

It is a very unique Climax design! I once found an example of how the gearing on the real one would've worked, but haven't been able to find it again for a while. Basically, the gear transmission was sideways from the normal Class A design and towards the front instead of the middle, and that drove a 90 degree bevel gear transmission close to the middle of the frame which then became a standard Climax drive system.
