My contribution to this week's LOTW is a Mehano-made Bachmann GP-18. It's actually quite a solid runner.

Walthers Mainline Alco DL-109. I have a weakness for early diesels due to the variety in design.

** My car this week I also just got. it is a HO train Company, a camelback. It is odd to see one of these that hasn't fallen apart yet. The original tender is gone and the last owner replaced it with a brass one. Some broken and not corroded parts to change still. frank

Nice Camelback, Frank. I have one of those that survived in perfect shape aside from the tender trucks.

Mine this week is an RF-16 in warbonnet. A dumpster diver brought it in to the LHS. Got it for $5 Only missing one horn, which I replaced. Even has all of it's steps. Runs smooth. Evan

Purchased at the Barn and Model Train shop in Wilson, NC, this piece is bound to attract Microbuss's attention. I now have all 4 of the Bachmann Plasser EM80C's - Both HO gauge UP and Amtrak, and now both N gauge UP and Amtrack. This little UP was just sittin' there in the middle of the N gauge pile of sale items, for $9 it came home with me. I actually bought only one HO car this trip, at the Virginia train shop. The other 3 were N gauge. But did buy HO parts and supplies. Anyway, this UP Plasser will be joining it's family soon. After I test it. :)

Chops124, I will paint it in the Santa fe Scheme. But I still don't have the decals yet. Besides, I still need to modify the loco. The tender must be shortened, the enigine must be lowered, and the number boards must be repositioned. I also want to superdetail this engine. Lots of work to be done before the decaling!!

My LOTW is this nifty Con Cor PA-1 that I scored as a basket case at a swap meet. I will get it running as soon as I figure out how the goofy drivetrain goes together.

FINALLY, the last one I needed (I think) of the 0-8-0's. This thing is so pretty and the green just pops!! I know there is another version of the 0-8-0 Southern and I am pretty sure I have it, I just need to find it. One more train and I am done buying for good (I think), the TYCO F9-A in Cotton Belt!

Wow, that definitely does pop. I like the Chattanooga 2-8-0 better but this thing is still a beaut.

I've never seen one of those before. That's a large scale slot car motor driving what looks like a Hobbytown-style tank drive. Has the motor come loose, or does it just turn with the rear truck? I'm guessing she generates a good bit of gear noise when running. Neat find.

The motor does turn. The reason I bought it was twofold, it was unusual and more importantly, it was cheap. The fact that it was a warbonnet was the icing on the cake!

That motor is a dead ringer for a Bachmann motor from their first run of HO in the 70's. Not the greatest motor, IMO.

Kader made cheap 5 pole knockoffs of the old 60's Cox slot car vented can motor design that were pretty weak. I replaced the one in my AHM FT, and it runs smoothly & quietly now. It would be interesting to know if the Lima motor was any better.
