Cranking out this week's first motive post, I got this RDC engine on Thursday from a walk-in lot a customer at my LHS brought it to sell. Boss didn't want the rolling stock, he bought the buildings, and I offered him some money for this engine and some cars and parts/pieces. He took the offer. First time I've seen a New Haven RDC. Will fix'er up and get it back under "traction" with some new rubber bands soon. :)

Pretty cool bud ya got there. My LOTW is an non powered HO scale Japanese brass EMD E8 B unit from I think around the 70's in Penn Central black: I bought it from the same train show I bought my Erie E8 from last year and me Illinois Central E unit this year.
I'm home schooled, I love to work on cars and anything with an engine and wheels, I love model RR'ing, and listening to Dire Straits.

** Hey Buss now this is a killer locomotive. The baddest of the bad. When I think of pure modern locomotive styling this one is right up there with the Henry Driffus Hudson and the Southern Pacific GS4. The location of the locomotive in the photo shows forethought and perfect placing. Buss I don't know how you do it again and again. I am and will always be your student in the art of photography. frank *

N90 Class. It's for sale, too, at a bargain basement price. See Trading Post.

AMC, Erie, great pieces. I love the rubber band drive on my Hustler, the tension of the rubber band pulls it through any hiccups super smooth. I loved taking the Amtrak RDC from Springfield, Massachusetts to Bridgeport, Connecticut and cruise along at 70 MPH along the banks of the Connecticut River. Probably a former NH RDC.

I actually used to have one of those toys when I was little. And yes, I've seen the movie that thing's from, pretty bad and it did horrible in theaters. I don't know anybody who knows or cares about it besides you now.

If I remember properly, it takes up like 10-20 minutes of the film, the train sections.

Got another new Walthers Trainline locomotive for my layout!
Yup, an Amtrak F40PH in Phase 3! I've always loved those locomotives in that paint scheme, as I used to see them a lot at South Station (I even remember seeing one pull an MBTA commuter train when I was younger!) It even has Operation Lifesaver markings, as I thought I wouldn't mind having a locomotive with them (I remember seeing an MBTA F40PH once with the Operation Lifesaver logo.)
Showing the front. Even on my layout people have to be aware of the dangers involving trains and tracks!
Here's a photo of it pulling my TYCO Amtrak cars. It does look pretty cool this way (had I been running a model railroad in 1979 or 1980, I'd probably have bought the TYCO Amtrak cars and a Bachmann or Life-Like F40PH to pull them, as I'm not too keen on TYCO's Amtrak GG1.)
Here it is pulling my Amfleet cars. This is what I often saw at South Station (yep, in the late 90s the cars did have a mix of Phase 3 and 4.)
Now I just need to find a good decoder to install into it...

Regarding my Mogul, it didn't come with one. Just a really bad paint job, which I forgot to record. Anyway, this the MDC tender I'll use with it. Maybe one day I'll find the correct tender. Evan

A few others in the group have this loco. Mine was also lacking the yoke, due to zinc rot. I was lucky to have a pattern premade of styrene in among my pile of parts. Parts of the original motor fell apart, also from rot. Evan

That looks real nice Evan; even the steam and sand domes are brass. That must date it a bit.
