I got this in a junk box of locomotives. The only markings on the frame are:
"Made in Austria" and "GES.GESCH". Anyone ever seen this company mark
before?

If anyone can tell me who made it, I may try to restore it. It is a really nice
locomotive.

Liliput is a guess. They actually made a 38 3832. Could be green (what colour is yours under the black), spoked front wheels (yours look to be new replacements?)

The color you see is the original color. This is apparently someone's unfinished
restore attempt. There is no paint anywhere on this loco. Thanks for the head's
up on this. Now I know where to look for possible parts.

It's a Liliput 4-6-0 that Life Like sold in the early 1970's. Take a look at this link to a page from another section on this forum.

Oh, and I searched that name you found on the base and got a bunch of stuff about, uh, Nazis. Get rid of it before it's too late!!! I've always thought those things were bizarre, though.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

This is a replacement version of the Casey Jones 4-6-0 "382".

It is a Liliput, partly identified on its tender coupler box... it also had a sprung tender-locomotive connecting rod.

It would run quite well if the wheels are clean.

Do you have different views of this model?

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
