I picked up an oddball today, a 60s era Booster 0-4-0T lettered Union Pacific that has a bright yellow shell with faded red lettering, the same as the caboose that came with it.

Until now the only non-black example I was aware of was the green Army one. But Tony Cook's page on these only has pictures of Army and GN which appears to be black.

Did any others come in bright colors? Shades of the Varney bright color docksides, which had six variants (NYC green, UP yellow, SP grey/orange, MP blue, FEC red, NH orange/black).

The Tyco Booster could also be had in B&O, CN, NYC, PRR, RDG and SP.

The Yellow UP Booster was part of the UP Work Train Set of the Red Box Era. There is also a Yellow NYC Booster, which was part of the NYC Work Train Set of the same era.

Ah, I've seen those numerous times on the internet and I believe even in person. It looks strange, yes, but they do exist.

In trying to find an example of this set, I found this -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MANTUA-GHC-GANDY-DANCER-HO-SCALE-WORK-TRAIN-SET-WITH-BOX-VINTAGE-1950s-/331497439112?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d2ec97f88

Maybe worthy of another topic, but who is GHC? Note the brown cab on the switcher - I've run across two of those over the years and this is the first I've found any indication of where that might have come from.

GHC (General Hobbies Corporation) was a Bernie Paul company. Bernie Paul was also the owner of IHC (International Hobbies Corporation) and AHM.
