Been on a trolley binge lately, I've had this one for some years, and just got it repaired a couple weeks ago, runs good! But, the trolley pole was missing. I of course went looking, Bowser has some, but at 16 bucks plus shipping, hmm. So I hit Ebay, and found these by Seton, 9.95. Luckily I still had some cash left in my PayPal account, so I ordered one, and this morning I went about installing it.

The shaft is shorter than the original, so I ended up having to "modify" <gulp!> the original insert. Oh well, it is what it is. I also had to cut away some flashing around the inside of the shell around the hole, too. Part of tuning it right, right? Anyway, after those clean-up mods, I inserted the pole, and put the two nuts on. I left the original pole hook on it, didnt' want to swap out for the new, as it was glued in solid.

So, after about 15 minutes of work, it's now officially "back in service", although I won't worry about powering the pole directly yet. Since I have no cat to run it over on anyway.

Now I'll have to save up some $ to buy two more to replace the missing poles on my PCC trolleys as well. But at least one looks like it SHOULD be taking on paying passengers now. :)

So jealous... If ever there was one single trolley car I could have in HO, it'd be a Liberty Bell car like this. Lucky you

Hey, that's a beauty! I have one of those in the works, same road name. Eaton will make any length that you want, just let him know before hand. I have 3 of his poles and I'll be needing a few more.

We need a traction area here!

Sweet paint job on that car. It looks really good with the windows. I've also used the Eaton poles, good stuff for sure!
