Going to dive into buying a package of these HO scale dumpsters. I want to see how they look behind a few business buildings on the layout and will likely buy more.

I prefer no dumpsters on my property...And I hate to see those homes that keep their garbage cans in site all week long. I hide mine other than on garbage pick up day...
Here's the WM dumpster auction... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dumpsters-Custom-Made-Waste-Management-1-87-HO-Total-2-/361115765131?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item54142d498b

If the dumpster is metal, they'll steal that for scrap too.

Wow, I didn't know Scottsbluff was such a hotbed of skull-duggery and thievery! Does it have a Miracle Mile, too? I guess if it did, Ben would have pictures of all the fine ladies by now.
My company had the cmopany van's catalytic converter stolen a few years ago, it was parked out of sight, and someone power-sawed if off, as used cat's were bringing 60-100 bucks for the platinum inside. We keep the van out front along the road front view now. Recycling is big business, and big bucks, people will steal anything not tied down it seems to get some money. I think they made changes in the cat recycling, so that you had to provide some sort of vehicle registrations for each one to keep people from bringing in suspect loads of cats.
Oh, and Walt, I guess you wouldn't want to live next to me, I keep my roll-around can out by my front porch, so it's easier for this old guy to dump stuff cleaning house. There's not much room to hide it without going to a lot of trouble ( and footsteps ), so while house-clean-out is going on, it stays out front in plain view. With yard spiders and other obstacles, I decided to keep it where it's convenient.

You have to be careful of recycled cats. After the ninth use, they're pretty much done for.
