A tribute to WKS. Believe it or not, I recently finished running this old AHM
off an open lift gate at the El Paso Model Train Club. It fell three feet and
was dashed to smithereens on the concrete floor. To my lasting astonishment,
my friend Moose Yarborough pieced every tiny bit, steps and all, back together
perfectly and it looks like new and runs like a charm. Incidentally, in or about
1882, a Central of Vermont locomotive backed two packed work coaches over
a precipice where a bridge was being erected, in Northfield, Massachusetts.
The results were much, much worse.

Man, it must be awesome to have a friend like that. Most other people would just say "Oh well, time to throw it out." but not your friend. That's just awesome. On top of that, I have the coaches that thing is pulling and I know someone in my group that has the loco so I may try to pay a tribute with that eventually.Anyway, my contribution to this week's LOTW is my Mantua 4-6-2 from the late 1950's. I just got her back yesterday and the wire was replaced with one similar to the ones they used in the 1960's (aka a modern model railroad wire), the wheels put back in order, and they even cleaned it. All for around $27.It was cheaper than I thought it was, really.

My loco of the week, an AHM C-Liner.
#4064 was one of the demonstrators from CLC, painted in CP colors.
Someone did a nice job on it, I think.
A new coat of Dulcoat seems in order.

FYI, he repairs anything model rail professionally.
This guy can make stones sit up and bark. It was
a freebie for me, as I give him and his daughter,
also a model railhead, rides to the club given that
his car has a thrown rod. He is a great guy and a
talented artist/technician.

Here's the most recent addition to my roster, a Pennsylvania Scale Models PCC car.

I picked it up off ebay paired with a Pre-Tyco plastic trolley. The box arrived yesterday and the packing job was absolutely terrible. Luckily the all-metal PCC car survived and should just need a motor rebuild to get going. The plastic Tyco car wasn't so lucky...

Most interesting trolley. Reminds me of boyhood visits to Toronto. The
roof has a dimpled look to it, which is a most interesting texture.
That original intent or just kind of grew it? I like it.

Wouldn't be surprised. Especially since they did the same thing with some of Lionel's H0 lineup.

From what I know the PSM molds were picked up by Bowser...but knowing the HO Scale business who knows what ended up where.

Chops, I'm not sure if the gold roof is intentionally textured or not, but it has a neat look to it.

Bus, I'll get some pics up in the next few days!

I'm guessing it'll either be his JOTW later on or next week's LOTW.

My LOTW is a basket case Tyco C-630 in Chessie paint that I rescued from a hobby shop scrap box. It is a little rough around the edges bat it runs Ok after a good cleaning. I had one as a kid and traded it away for credit towards an Athearn FP-45. Been nostalgic lately and I have been tracking down all the models that I had and let go.

Dig'n the PCCs! I really miss riding them (first to school, then to work) and working on the power lines in Philly (Yup, worked for SEPTA for a bit). I suppose my best chance to ride a PCC again is at one of the trolley museums now, unless I get the opportunity to ride a PCC II in Philly one day.

Nice little engine and great job on the reassembly. I have the same one and it just goes & goes. I need to get some more appropriate cars for it to pull.

Here's one of my newest. A tram (trolley) kit from the UK. Looks like it was adhesive failure. I can't wait to get this together. I'm not sure if I'll repaint it or just give it a proper assembly. I'll decide after I get the motor running well.
