Both of mine are from yesterdays train show. Model Power SP tender driven 2-8-0 for $15 Athearn WP F7a $30 Both were like new and with oil run flawlessly! The F7 was actually brand new, still in kit form! 2-8-0 only needed a lube.

Man, it is hard to decide this week which locomotive, as I bought more than a few at a show today. But, since this one is the only one I have picture of at the moment, I'll post it for this week's engine. A nice Mantua find at a flea market I stopped at about 20 miles down the road from the train show, hadn't been in it before, with the wife not there, I decided Heck, I'm goin' IN! I made the rounds , and after making almost the full circle,I found a cove with some toys, and looking up, spotted the mantua box on the top shelf. Nice! Box is sweet, as is the condition of all the literature and the engine, too. I saw the price tag, $8.99, and went I was down to $3 in my wallet, but of course they took plastic. Yay! So another lonely Booster has found a new home. I hope to scan all the paperwork, or at least check to see if HOSeeker needs this one ( probably not ). Anyway, a nice outside-the-show find on the trek home.

I don't post here often enough, but I'm so tickled with this little thing. Does anyone know who made it? It has Pocher Italy molded into the bottom. The draw bar reminds me of Rivarossi. It was $4 and missing the motor drive between the tender motor and loco drive, but the motor doesn't want to run anyway, so that doesn't seem to matter.

I seem to remember that the ones I saw when hew had the sloped water side tanks, but the product was straight, as yours is. Dave

Actually, it's in As New condition. What I WANT is to have it polished to a chrome appearance. Never seen one done like that. Obviously the window flashing needs to be cleaned up, too. Like it's fresh out of the mold. I don't want to restore it as much as I want to customize it some. I can always paint it black later. :)

* It was sold by AHM. Made by Pocher. Pocher was sold and bought by Rivarossi. Rivarossi made and released this engine also. AHM also was the importer and retailer. Rivarossi built one's have their name on the bottom of their locos. * How did you test motor?

This past Saturday I paid a visit to the Train Expo here in Ottawa. Not quite the killing I had last year, but what I did get I'm very pleased with. There wasn't a whole lot in the way of Tyco (the only piece I bought was a dummy CP F7), but I did get some good N scale equipment.
I paid $35 for this LifeLike F40. It runs almost as smooth as my Kato engines

To all of you guys with Rivarossi/Pocher and Mantua Generals who need drive shafts. I have some that I crafted out of brass rod and nuts that will fit them. The Rivarossi 4-4-0 and the Pocher 2-4-0 drive shafts are different lengths. The Mantua General shafts are also different and come in two types. These were made with the original shaft as a guide for length and socket fitting.
If you want some, I'll let them go for 3.00 each plus 1.00 for postage.
PM me with the manufaturer and wheel arrangement of the type you need and the quantity.
Manufacturer and wheel arrangement. (i.e. = Rivarossi, 4-4-0)
The nuts will not come loose as they are soldered onto the rod and the rod was threaded to fit the nut.
I have currently 6 of the 2-4-0 drive shafts and 3 of the 4-4-0 rivarossi shafts. I will have to make a few more of the General drive shafts. Each one was fittted to the appropriate loco to make sure that they fit properly.
As to the Pocher 2-4-0, if the motor in the tender is an open face, it was the 1968 production model, otherwise it was the 1971 run. The motor in the loco was the 1974-77 run.

My LOTW is my repowered AHM trolley with a big fat computer surplus motor. I created this scene with a vintage watercolor painting on cardstock for a backdrop to add some atmosphere.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

No kidding. I don't have one of these Mikados, but I do have a metal Mantua Pacific (since both of them are very similar in a lot of ways) and I have to say; it looks much better than the newer plastic versions from the 60's (maybe late 50's, too) and onwards. On top of that, they just run better overall.
