I've decided I'm ready to detail my BQ23-7 for SCL/Family Lines. I need help finding detail parts like the horn and brake wheel stand. I'm kinda of a rivet counter on this build.

One of my favorite locomotives.

I fabricated my brake wheel stand from an old scrap one and some sheet styrene. Didn't mess with the horns.

There is also a window on the front of the Bachmann cab on the engineer's side that is not on the prototype that I should have filled in.

Post pics of your progress!

My first suggestion is to go to walthers.com and look at their online super detailing catalog.

Some sources of parts are: Prescision Scale, Details West, Details Associates, Run 8.

Also, if you can find a copy of Model Railroading. Not Model Railroader. MRailroading sometimes did feature articles on detailing a particular model locomotive. They would give a list of the required detail parts along with some nice photographs.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.
