I finally finished these last night....

I gathered up the Athearn RDC's at a few trains shows. Two are Hi-Fi powered, the rest are dummies. I stripped the shells, repainted them using testor's Aluminum paint. I had to hand file the corrugated siding off of the front/rear of each car, to match the original The striped decals, I found on Ebay from Mountvernonshops. The NJT and number decals came from Microscale's NJT passenger decal set. All of the cars were air brushed with a satin clear coat I made from 67%/33% Testor's Clear/Dullcoat. A pic of the real NJT RDC is also posted.

Next up will be a Rivarossi Conrail E8 and 4 Amtrak RDC Cars.

Those look good!

Do you run them all together as one train or break them out in some other combination?

Normally, from the pics I have seen on the net, they are run in groups of 2-3.
NJ Transit never use the RDC-3 Mail Car. Since I have an excess of those RDC-3 shells I used one of them. I am going to do another 6 of these cars using wider stripes. The decals came with narrow and wide stripes.
