My COTW is a couple of Athearn composite AT&SF short hoppers. I sure miss Irv!

My COTW is a bit lucky, or I am. Either way, I like it! A bit of irish railroading, maybe?
Jerry

A nice find, paid $3 for it I think.

I FINALLY found a reasonably priced Twinkies car for $15 plus shipping on eBay. I'm pairing this with my Hostess set from two weeks ago to make a great Hostess consist. I've got two other Hostess cars as well - it will be a great consist. I also plan on modeling a local bakery to pair with the train.

Well, it has a shamrock on it so of course it's gonna be cheap for what it is! So, my contribution to this week's COTW is a Mantua rail-gon gondola from a 1994 Mantua train pak.

I love this week's cars. Twinkies FTW.
Here is my COTW, a Mantua A&P wooden reefer. I really appreciate the fine printing on this car, even though the pics are a tad blurry.

Cheers, Thomas

With the Twinkie car and A&P car being posted, it's fair that I post this Oreo boxcar w/ original box.

I now need the Oreo car. It's on my wantlist now! Part of the backstory on my railroad is that there is a railroad car manufacturer. There actually used to be one 100 years ago where I now live. The AAR has deemed advertising cars legal again, so promo boxcars and such roll off the assembly lines. LOVE the Oreo car!

I was thinking the same thing Barry when I looked at the A&P... I have a pair (or two) of the A&P lighted poles from Life-Like but I'm not sure I'll get to use them. My 70s layout used the LL Convenience Store as an A&P. But now, I have the 7-11, which is the same kit. Don't know if I will double on this kit or not...

I know this is unrelated, but nice sawmill or whatever in the background. Also, nice COTW.

I think that "sawmill" was also sold as a "rural freight" station or something like that. I've always liked the way that part of it is 2-story.
