Hey,

Don't know how recently Model Power announced them, but I do see on the Walthers site some New Release Model Power HO-Scale MetalTrain items. None of these is available now and I haven't seen a specific release date for them beyond "TBA"...

MetalTrains 40' Sliding Door Box Car
Linde - Union Carbide (#2176) $15.98

MetalTrains 40' Sliding Door Box Car
Canadian Pacific w/"Spans the World" Logo (#2177) $15.98

MetalTrains 41' Steel Reefer
State of Maine "New Haven" $15.98 (#2230)

MetalTrains 41' Steel Reefer
White Rock Water $15.98 (#2231)

MetalTrains 57' Steel Flat Car
Chessie System $15.98 (#2250)

MetalTrain 34' Caboose w/Cupola
Alaska $15.98 (#2275)

(Not Pictured)
MetalTrain 34' Caboose w/Cupola
Union Pacific $15.98 (#2276)

And sometime back Model Power added to the MetalTrains line with this HO-Scale Ore Car...

Walthers shows the MetalTrains Ore Car as still in the future with respect to delivery. The image of the SP Ore Car comes from Model Power's site...

www.modelpower.com

The Ore Cars will be offered in 9 roadnames:

DM&IR; GN (Green); UP (Silver); SP; BN; CN; CP (Black); C&NW; and B&LE. Model Power lists retail for Ore Cars at $15.98-16.98

The MetalTrains line is a unique set of HO-Scale offerings. I have the all-metal die-cast F-7A in Santa Fe and it runs very well. The cars come quipped with knuckle couplers and good wheelsets. Operationally, they are very heavy and it is best to run them with each other and not mix 'em up with regular plastic rolling stock for best performance. I see them more as some to collect like the die-cast racing cars and such.
