I was digging through my 40' boxcars and discovered something that I had to laugh at myself for. Apparently, at two different times, lacking the proper parts in stock and being too impatient to get them, I assembled an Athearn boxcar with an Accurail shell and trucks, and an Accurail boxcar with an Athearn shell and trucks. I seem to recall fitting each frame to the shell to be a massive pain in the neck, too, considering the accurail frame is about 2mm too long 
One of those days where you've just got to sit back and laugh at what we model railroaders do for the love of trains...

Sounds like an interesting assembly issue! I don't do many kits, so that would not be a likely problem I run across. But it's fun to see how you approached the problem back then, and then realized now OMG I did that?!
