One small project I've been contemplating was to take the Lima flat cars with Mercedes Benz cars on them, and remount a Willys body on the chassis. I found some time this morning, since I had gotten 5 of the cars in one place finally, and had the Bachmann Trackster Jeepster bodies handy, too, I got busy and manged to convert 4 this morning before taking a cat to the vet for some emergency surgery. This conversion will dovetail nicely with my AMC Auto rack train project, as Kaiser Jeep was bought by AMC eventually. Anyhow, 4 turned out nicely, one chassis on the 5th is warped, so will take a bit of work to get that one finished. I have a few more around somewhere, I'll get those converted too eventually. Here's what I've got now, though.

I think they look really good, Jerry! I've seen a lot of flats hauling things that doesn't look right on them. The Jeepsters look like they came on the flats....

Not bad, AMC.

You mean scale model wise, or real-world? LOL. Real world, Kaiser stopped putting on the woodgrain detailing by the early 60's, and the Jeepster production was down. These are probably representative of the late 40's, early 50's era.
